We will hold batik workshop on Thursday, Friday or Saturday when we have enough people( 2 people minimum and maximum)
What is batik?
Batik is an Indonesian technique of wax-resistant dyeing applied to the whole material. Japan also has a similar technique called Rouketsu. You can draw whatever you like or we will give you a sample to drawing with special paint(wax-resist dyeing) on your fabrics. Then you can dye it at home by yourself or join an aizome workshop (separate price) with us. Your drawing will be appear on your fabric.
NOTE; we can provide a sample with Japanese characters if you wish. Please tell us what kind of letters you want in advance.
What can you drew?
You may bring ONE fabric which we recommend 100% cotton because it is easy to draw on and dye easily later on. A t-shirt, a eco bag, a bandana, a cushion cover or a pillow cover are good choices. You will be able to draw Maximum A4 size picture. We will provide samples or you can draw your own artwork. You may dye it with aizome (Japanese indigo dye) if you wish.
